Campus Safety & Security

Safety & Security

To provide a safe learning and working environment, ϲ contracts with the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office to provide campus security services. On campus, DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies have full police authority, including that of arrest, granted by the Illinois General Assembly under 110 ILCS 685/30-45(11) in DeKalb County. Reports of criminal activities on campus are investigated by the Campus Security Office/DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with appropriate federal, state, and local authorities. The Sheriff’s Office also works closely with the Director of Campus Safety & Security, who provides administrative oversight for the College’s emergency management preparation, training, and other safety and security initiatives.
